New Home Energy Efficiency Program

Are you concerned about the cost of energy in your home and the effect of your use on our community and environment? Consider assisting TETNA by developing a program to help members deal with these concerns. John Bahr, chairman of the Wauwatosa subcommittee on Home Energy Efficiency will be presenting at the June 8 association meeting. The energy committee is developing a neighborhood program to support the effort of residents to reduce their energy consumption. TETNA has been chosen as the ideal candidate to kickoff this new program.Using Madison's EnAct progam as a model, the Wauwatosa program goals are:

  • Encourage and empower Wauwatosa and Milwaukee County residents to take actions in their daily lives to reduce the environmental impact of their households.
  • Build awareness of the energy impacts of household activities and lifestyle practice.
  • Build awareness of energy problems and concerns specific to the Wauwatosa area and Milwaukee County.
  • Build awareness of local resources that facilitate sustainable living.
  • Create a stronger community by encouraging neighbors to get to know each other and work together to attain their goals.

Look for more information in the upcoming July issue of the TETNA newsletter or attend Monday's meeting.
