Jakob endured a year of chemotherapy, which was not enough to put him into remission. In January 2007, just three months after his Make a Wish trip to Florida, they learned his cancer had returned to his lungs. At this time his rate for survival dropped to less than 50%. Jakob finished a second year of chemotherapy, along with lung radiation in February 2008.In September 2008, after six wonderful months of remission, Jakob’s cancer returned for a third time. At the young age of 7, Jakob is undergoing a brave battle as his prognosis for a cure has diminished further. He is again receiving chemotherapy to keep the cancer from progressing while the family waits for a clinical trial to mature in hopes that they will find a cure.To learn more about Jakob’s struggle with Rhabdomyosarcoma Embryonal cancer or to make a donation, visit www.caringbridge.org/visit/jake.To download an informational flier, click here.
